Residence permit in Greece for Financially Independent Persons (FIP)

Greece’s Golden visa is one of the most popular programmes granting residency in Greece, and for good reason. In an effort to support the country's economy, Greece, a Mediterranean country located in the center of Europe, is offering Greece residency or Greece citizenship (Greece passport) to foreign investors. The Greek passport is similar to the passports of Germany, France, or any other EU country; Greek passport holders may live, work or study in any country belonging to the European Union. International business executives, investors, VIPs as well as affluent citizens worldwide consider Greek citizenship (Greek passport) a powerful tool for international tax planning and a safety net should the living conditions at home become unbearable.

Third-country citizens, who are economically independent, are eligible to obtain a residence permit in Greece providing they have sufficient resources and/or a fixed annual income to cover their living expenses. This is to reassure the Greece Government they will not become a burden to them. In order to grant a residence permit in Greece as a financially independent person, the third-country citizen must prove that he/she is able to cover his living expenses in Greece. This person can/may also be accompanied by members of his/her family.
